Howard "Buzz" Steiner Jr.

Howard “Buzz” Steiner Jr., 87, passed away at 12:19 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at his home.

Howard was born on June 20, 1936, in Lima, Ohio, to Howard and Doris (Stemen) Steiner Sr.  On September 6, 1959, he married the love of his life, Janice L. (Redmond) Steiner, who preceded him in death on November 5, 2014.

Howard was a graduate of Elida High School and served in the U.S. Army.  He worked at the GM Institute of Technology in Flint, MI and went on to work at Excello/Textron as a Chief Engineer and Engineer Manager of the Division, retiring from Textron.  He was an active member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church and served others where needed.  He was also a member of The Eagles and The Elks.  Howard enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s games and events.  He was a car enthusiast, and he was a talented woodworker and also worked with stained glass.  Howard was very lovable and a friend to all.

He is survived by his daughters, Kim (Robert) Rynearson and Sheila (Craig) Looser; five grandchildren: Derek (Connie) Rynearson, Dustin Rynearson, Tiffany (Herbert) Pereira, Bradley (Kelly) Looser and Cody (Emily) Looser; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings: Samuel Steiner, John Steiner, and Phyllis Vadeboncoeur.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31,  2023, at Elida Immanuel Church.  Pastor Randy Coleman will officiate.  Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elida Immanuel Church or Our Daily Bread.
