IDA M. BOWERSOCK, 82, died at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 13, 2006, at her residence. She was born March 20, 1924, in Lima to Richard and Edna Marie McGrievy Davis, who preceded her in death. On Nov. 18, 1941, she married Robert G. Bowersock, who died Feb. 5, 2001. Mrs. Bowersock was a life member of St. Gerard Catholic Church, where she had been a cook for the rectory for several years and a member of its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of American Legion Post 96 Auxiliary and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 Auxiliary, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54 Auxiliary and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. She was a very good cook, who loved cooking Sunday meals and spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, William L. (Tonya) Bowersock of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Michael G. (Lisa) Bowersock of Dublin; eight grandchildren, Chris, Sam, Clinton, Tony, Tommy, James, Grace and Anastasia; four great-grandchildren, Mike, Jake, Thea and Alantis; a sister, Rita Jacobs of Lima; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Bowersock of Nokomis, Fla. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Bowersock. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. George Blasick will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
