Ila I. Akers- Kehrwecker, 89 of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio in Lima, Ohio.
Born Tuesday, June 27, 1922 in Stambaugh, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Davis and the late Gracie Moore Davis.
She married James Akers on June 29, 1940 he preceded her in death in 1963. She married Charles Kehrwecker in November of 1968, he preceded her in death on April 1, 1979. She had worked at Pangles, The Leader Store, Greggs Department Store and Lazarus Department Store. She was a member of the Rousculp Church of Christ and a graduate of Berea Kentucky High School.
Surviving are three daughters, Judith "Judy" (William O.) Beard of Pemberville, OH, Lynda (Edward) Akers-Belle of Chardon, OH and Camilla J. "Cammy" (David) Rowe of Cridersville, OH, a son James Michael (Barbara) Akers of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, three step daughters, Marlene of Lima, Ohio , Marcella, of Florida and Marilyn of Lima, Ohio. Six grandchildren, six step grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A brother Willard Davis of Lima, OH, a sister, Madlyn Hathaway of Dayton, OH.
She was predeceased by: brothers, Walter Davis, Watson Davis, Preston Davis and Paul Davis, and sisters, Ina Barnhardt, Nina Davis, Sybil Burchett and Audrey Zerbe.
A Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Rousculp Church of Christ located at 890 Amherst Rd. Cridersville, Ohio 45806 with Pastor Kenny Rader officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home,
