IMOGENE H. SWARTZ, 83, died at 10:00 a.m. on December 19, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. She was born January 20, 1927, in Corn, Oklahoma, to Arthur Balzer and Lillie Friesen Balzer, who have preceded her in death. On November 16, 1947, in Premont, Texas, she married Charles S. Swartz, who died November 11, 2007. Mrs. Swartz was an awesome homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She spent most of her life in Texas. She was active in church in Texas and in Elida, Ohio, where she attended Salem Mennonite Church. She was active in a local prayer group and volunteered at the Et Cetera Shop in Bluffton, Ohio. Survivors include a son, Steve (Pam) Swartz, of Plymouth, Indiana; two daughters, Carrie (Daryl) Dicke, of Wichita, Kansas, and Amy (John) Roelse, of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Roelse, Travis Swartz, Catherine Roelse and Tanner Swartz; and a sister, Hilda Mae Schuchert, of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Hinz. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Salem Mennonite Church, Elida, Ohio. Pastor Paula Snyder Belousek will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Salem Mennonite Church, or to Gideons Bible Fund.
