Irene Vorhees

Irene Frances Vorhees, 91, died at 2:45 a.m. Aug. 20, 2010, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. She was born June 25, 1919, in Ottoville to Ferdinand and Mary Becker Unterbrink, who preceded her in death. She married Albert ?Bud? C. Vorhees, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Vorhees was a graduate of Ottoville High School and retired from R.G. Dunn Corp., Lima. She was a member of the Women?s Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Women of the Moose. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ann Unterbrink, of Kentucky; daughter, Sharon Ricker, of Westerville; a son, Donald (Susan), and a stepgranddaughter, Payton, of Lima; a granddaughter, Michelle Ricker (Danny Brown), a grandson, Gregory (Leslie) Ricker, and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Melissa Ricker, all of North Carolina; and special friends Bill and Joan Ellerbrock. She was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Judith) and Roman (Helen) Unterbrink, of Kentucky; a sister, Mary Jane (Roland) Vanderford, of Arizona; a daughter, Jacqueline; a son-in-law, Howard Ricker; and a granddaughter, Georgeanne Ricker. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. Father Joy Poonoly will officiate. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
