Iris Louise Watt

Iris Louise Watt, 98, went to her Heavenly home at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Springview Manor.

She was born at home in Uniopolis, OH to James and Ethel Watt on August 17, 1923.  Iris was the third child of four; all of whom proceeded her in death.

After High School and Business courses, she worked at several jobs until she found the right fit.  Iris loved her position at Siferd Hossellman as an accountant and spent 50 plus years there.  In later years she was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society.  Iris was loved by all who knew her.  Many would comment, “She is such a gentle Spirit!”

She leaves behind nieces, Michele (Gene) Sanders and Annette (Jody) Newland; nephew-in-law, Jim Bauman; great-nieces, Kendra (Tim) Smith and Jennifer Bauman; great-nephew, Jason (Darla) Bauman; very special friend, Dolores Ernest and very special friend of 20 years, Anne L. Schiellerd.  These two ladies had a lovely friendship!

In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by a niece, June Bauman and nephew, Greg McCurdy.

A very sincere Thank You to Interim Hospice, Iris’ nurse, Jeanette Clark, and her staff who gave the love and professional care to Iris as she needed them during the last year and half of her life.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 1 – 3 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m.  Pastor Todd Cosart and Pastor Wanda Werking will officiate.  Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.  Guests are welcome to join the family after the service for light refreshments at the funeral home.
