ISABEL M. "IZZIE" KENNEY, 58, died at 4:43 a.m. May 31, 2006, at her residence. She was born August 13, 1947, in Ontonagon, Michigan, to Russell and Juanita Aspitarte Sain. Her father preceded her in death. Her mother survives in Lima, Ohio. On November 27, 1976, in Ewen, Michigan, she married Ray R. Kenney, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mrs. Kenney had taught at St. Charles Catholic Schools since 1987. She had also taught in Walt Lake, Michigan, for eight years. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic leader and minister and a weekday Mass lector. She served on the Diocesan Curriculum Committee. She was a graduate of Northern Michigan University. She loved teaching, reading, flower gardening and spending time with her family. Survivors also include two daughters, Patricia A. Kenney of Charlotte, N.Carolina, and Christina M. Kenney of Indianapolis, Indiana. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church. The Revs. Kenneth Lill, Stephen Blum and David Ritchie will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bruce Crossing, Michigan. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday.
