Ivan Neal Tracy, Sr.,
age 79 of Elida, Ohio died on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 4:00 A.M.at Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on December 13, 1932 in Louisville, Kentucky to Ev & Mary (Byrd) Chambers.
Ivan married Nora Lee Kennedy on November 27, 1959. She survives in Elida, Ohio. He was a sales man and buyer for Taggert Shoe Company in Portsmouth, Ohio, he then became the shoe department manager at Greggs Department Store continuing to sell the Taggert Shoes in his own department. Later he worked at Crawford Shoes Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Gardendale Church of God. He was a former member of the Elida School Board and Apollo Career Center School Board. He was a member of the Elida Breakfast Club; Gomer Dads Club; Elida Athletic Boosters; F.O.P.; Eagles Aerie #370. He was the Grand Marshall of the Elida Homecoming Parade. He was also honored at the Elida Alumni baseball game. He threw out the 1st pitch at the Cincinnati Reds Baseball game celebrating Lima Days. He loved sports especially baseball and bowling. He once bowled a 300 game. He played with the University of Louisville Marching Band and they were invited twice to play "My Old Kentucky Home" at the Kentucky Derby.
Surviving are: a son, Ivan Neal "Chip" (Debbie) Tracy, Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; three daughters, Melinda Lowe (Ricky) of Hazel , KY, Anne Kennedy (Jeffrey) Romaine of Mukwonago, WI and Lori Lizabeth Tracy of Lima, OH; ten grandchildren; Anthony, Angela, Andrea, Ryan, Josh, Vanessa, Hannah, Rachel, Bianca, Quincy, and four great grandchildren; sisters, Marian Rummage of Louisville, KY and Dorothy Keyes, Nashua, NH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his aunt and uncle Ivan & Marian Hibbs, who raised him.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Musto officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio.
