Jack Rigel, 80, passed away at 4:19 a.m. on February 5, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Jack was born on September 11, 1942 in Lima, Ohio, to Woodrow and Alice (Brewer) Rigel.
Jack served in Vietnam in the Army Rangers with the Big Red One Infantry. He then went on to retire from Sunstrand formerly Westinghouse. After retirement he was a bus driver for Elida Schools. Jack was a member of Trinity Wesleyan where he served as an usher. He enjoyed watching westerns and playing billiards. Jack also enjoyed woodworking and built many things over the years, including his house and deck.
He is survived by his children, Matthew (Susan) Rigel and Jon Rigel; grandchildren, Miranda, Emily, Amara, and Isaiah; a sister Grace Woolley; and a sister-in-law Pat Rigel.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jim and Jerry Rigel.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Brandon Dailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 414 E. Market Street, Lima, Ohio 45801.
