JAMES L. "JIM" BAME, 63, died at 1:45 p.m. April 21, 2006, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born March 25, 1943, in Allen County to Verlin "Bud" and Kathryn L. Brenneman Bame, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 14, 2003, in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., he married Barbara J. Timmons, who survives in Elida. Mr. Bame retired Sept. 1, 2005, after 40 years with American Electric Power, where he worked as a lineman for a number of years before he was distribution coordinator. He had been a deputy sheriff for more than 20 years and worked security at Lima Memorial Health System. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley. Survivors also include a son, Timothy (Julie) Bame of Bluffton, a daughter, Beth Anne Kelley of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Christian Bame and Hillarie Bame; a sister, Bessie (Dave) Wood of Elida; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Mel Hathaway will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Elida.
