James Edward Foster, 82, died at 10:08 a.m. March 8, 2008, at St. Rita?s Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1926, in Lima, Ohio to Earl and Alda Hawkins Foster, who preceded him in death. On December 4, 1945, he married Nelrose Flick, who died April 15, 1998. Mr. Foster retired as a steel roll molder from Teledyne Ohio Steel, after 20 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 96 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from April 24, 1944, to May 14, 1946. Survivors include three daughters, Anna E. Foster, of Ada, Ohio, Connie J. Foster, of Lima, Ohio, and Caroletta (Terry) Nickolson, of Columbus Grove, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Stephen Foster and Addison Foster, both of Lima, Ohio; and two sisters, Rhea Rolsten, of Lima, Ohio, and Jolane Von Buskirk, of Elida, Ohio. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Lyle and Rosalee Miller; two grandsons, William and James Leroy Lyle; two brothers, Richard and Dallas Foster; and a great-greatgrandson, Andrew Lyle. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Mark Vernick will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
