James H. Gillispie II

James H. Gillispie II, 59, passed away on June 22, 2023, at his residence.

James was born on October 17, 1963, in Lima, Ohio, to James H. and Clara L. (Thines) Gillispie.

James was a 1982 Lima Central Catholic graduate. He was a jack of all trades with many, many traits. He served as a volunteer EMT for Bath Township and was a cook at Ponderosa and Bob Evans. He was a member of VFW 1275, Legion Post 96, where he was a past SAL Commander and past District Commander. James was also a music buff and loved to sing and socialize.

He is survived by his sisters, Becky (Allen) Mathews, and Cindy (Mike) Nolte; nieces and nephews, Jenna Kay (Josh Sirch) Gillispie, Shawn Eley, Shannon Eley, Megan McDonald, Charlie McDonald, Samantha Nolte, and Kyle Nolte; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Melody (Larry Pummell) Eley; and a brother Robert Gillispie.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
