Born Wednesday, January 8, 1919 in Van Wert, Ohio, to Dallas Fry and Ruth Brown Fry who preceded him in death. On January 10, 1948 in Delphos he married Ruth Brennan and she survives in Lima.
He served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 until 1945. He was a Veteran of World War II.
He was a charter member of St. Charles Catholic Church. Lifetime member of VFW Post #1275 in Lima. His favorite basketball team was the Cleveland Caveliers. He was a devoted gardner. He retired from Westinghouse after 37 years. He graduated from Lima Central High School. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Robert Wheeler, to Intrim and St. Rita's Hospice for their care and kindness.
Surviving are sons, James Thomas (Valerie) Fry of Lima, and daughter, Sarah (James) Gerleman of Lima, also surviving two granddaughters Crystal Richardson and Amber Fry, two grandsons, Colton Fry and Caden Fry, two great grandchildren, Chloe Richardson and Addison George.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Fry-Applas.
A private family funeral service will be held on Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede F.H. with the Rev. Steve Blum officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani, Lima, OH.
