James E. Kitchen,
88 of Lima, Ohio died on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at 2:47 P.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, February 4, 1924, in Lima, Ohio. He was the son of the late Henry Lail Kitchen and the late Nora (Sheeley) Kitchen.
He retired from Ford Motor Company as an assemblyman.
He served both in the Army and in the Navy during World War II. He was a life member of VFW Post 1275 and the American Legion Post #96.
Surviving are: a daughter, Christine (Richard) Garriott of Portage, IN; four grandsons, Rick (Angela) Martin, Michael Martin, Jayme (Tess) Martin, James (Becky) Martin; several great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond (Pauline) Kitchen of Lima, OH; a sister, Dorothy Covault. a very special niece, Charlene (John) Bishop of Lima, OH, a very special niece; Darlene (Myron) Offenbacher of Lima, OH; and many other nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Melvin Kitchen and a sister Lucille Lewis.
Friends may call for a time of remembrance from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10th at the American Legion Post # 96. A memorial meal will then be served at 1:00 p.m.
