James C. Ladden, Jr., 77 of Lima, Ohio died on Monday, June 20, 2011, at Triumph Hospital, Lima, Ohio in Lima, Ohio.
Born Monday, February 26, 1934 in Piqua, Ohio, he was the son of the late James C. Ladden, Sr. and the late Lillian T. Boudrie Ladden.
He married Karen Campbell on June 25, 1966. She survives.
He retired in 1995 from the Lima State Hospital after 19 years. He was a member of St. Gerards Catholic Church, and served as an usher. He was an inductee of the St. Gerard Hall of Fame, and a graduate of St. John's High School, in Lima. He served as a Gym Supervisor at St. Gerards and was known there as "Jim of the Gym. You could always find him doing something at St Gerard's, LCC, Lima Warriors by working in the concession stand, gym, or helping in the classroom, chaperone bus trips, or painting signs. As long as there were kids around you could find Jim. He always had a sucker in his hand, of course these were for the kids. If one of them got hurt, Jim was always there to give them a sucker tomake them feel better. He loved to be invited to the graduations parties. He also loved his Fighting Irish and Green Bay. His family came first no matter how he was feeling. He loved his dogs "Patrick" and "Buckeye".
Surviving are sons, Shawn Ladden of Columbus, OH and David Ladden of Lima, OH, and a daughter, Dawn Ladden of Lima, OH., a grandson, Kalel Ladden. Also surviving are two brothers, Phillip Ladden of Phoenix, AZ and Thomas A. (Barb) Ladden of Lima, OH., and two Brother-in-laws, Jim Ribley of Florence, SC, and Tom Campbell of Mt. Gilead, Ohio.
He was predeceased by brother and sister-in-law, John E. and Peggy Ladden, and a sister, Johana Ribley.
Visitation wil be Sunday June 26, 2011 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Wake Service at 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Gerard's Catholic Church with the Rev. George Blasick C.Ss.R. officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
