James LaRue

James “Jim” LaRue, 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at The Springs of Lima. 

James was born on August 30, 1940, in Beaverdam, Ohio to Harold and Naomi (Downing) LaRue. 

James loved collecting antiques, mostly tractors. He actively enjoyed shooting guns. James also loved country music and listening to live music. He was also involved in the Allen County Fair where he also served as Superintendent. 

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Spencer; children: Margaret Ann LaRue Cornn, Marsha LaRue Elliott, James Charles LaRue, James Lee (Alli) LaRue, and Donald (Mary) LeMaster; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by, his first wife, Geraldine Ann Bradford; second wife, Barbara LaRue; siblings, Walt LaRue, Bill LaRue, and Martha LaRue.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor William Spencer will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or The Salvation Army.
