JAMES L. McGUE, 63, died at 8:50 p.m. May 19, 2007 at Arthur G. James Cancer Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 17, 1943, in Lima, Ohio to Arthur "Mike" and Pauline Smith McGue Van Gundy, who preceded him in death. On June 4, 1965, he married Kathleen "Kathy" Hurley in Elida, Ohio, who survives in Cairo, Ohio. Mr. McGue retired from Mid-Bus, Bluffton, Ohio. He was a five-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and Cleveland Browns fan. He served in the Army from June 22, 1961, to July 9, 1964. Survivors also include two sons, Scott McGue and Terry McGue, both of Lima, Ohio; a brother, Daryl (Pam) Van Gundy, of Elida, Ohio; two sisters, Mary (Gerald) Miller, of Shelby, Ohio, and Doreen Picklesimer, of Lima, Ohio; four grandchildren, Kaytie McGue and Kody McGue, both of Lakeview, Ohio, and Blake McGue and Zachary McGue, both of Lima, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bob" McGue and a nephew, David Miller. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Holbrook will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, Ohio, with graveside military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
