James Michels

James R. Michels, 84, passed away on August 14, 2023, at his residence.

James was born on March 21, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan to Michael Charles and Elizabeth Margaret (Leminex) Michels. On Saturday, January 15, 1966, he married Mary J. (McCoy) Michels who survives in Elida.

James retired from General Dynamics Joint Systems Manufacturing after 27 Years working as a millwright. He was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church of Grand Lake- Celina.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Billy) Michels; grandchildren, Jessica, Audriana, and Jerad.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by daughters, Judith Marie Michels and Angelica Lynn Morman; and siblings, Michael E. Michels, and Elizabeth A. Gonzales.

A graveside service will begin at 1p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2023, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima.  Pastor Terry Brock will officiate. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
