James A. Thomas

James A. Thomas, 82, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at his home.

James was born on October 18, 1936, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Merlin Thomas and Margaret E. Wilson-Thomas.  On November 21, 1964, he married Betty L. Llamon, who preceded him in death on November 26, 2000.

James was a past president and trustee of the Eagles Aerie #370, as well as a member of the Lima Masonic Lodge #205 F&AM, American Legion, and AM Vets.  He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.

He is survived by daughter, Becky K. VanDyke of Lima, sons, Matthew J. Thomas, and Michael A. (Julie) Thomas of Lima, five grandchildren: Michael Jr., James Lewis, Jacob, Kate and Jared “Rocky”, one great-granddaughter, Mallorie,  brother, Charles Thomas of Lima, and a sister, Kathy Wadman of Waymart, PA.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, Stanley and Gary Thomas.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
