Janet M. Maxwell

Janet M. Maxwell, 87, passed away at 2:49 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Lost Creek Care Center. 

Janet was born on April 5, 1937, in Paulding County, Ohio, to Clifford and Margerie (Bartels) Kent. On November 24, 1962, she married Irwin Maxwell, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2020.

Janet graduated from Blue Creek High School in Haviland, Ohio and St. Rita’s School of Nursing in Lima. She worked in the office of Dr. Robert D. Briggs M.D., the Lima Convalescent Home, and retired as an R.N. from St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple and attended Bluelick Bible Church

She is survived by her daughters, Janelle Maxwell of Dayton and Joyce (Shane) Jackson of Lima; son, Daniel Maxwell of Prineville, Oregon; grandchildren: Nikki Maxwell, Kristi Maxwell, and Tyler Jackson; and great-grandchild Amelia Maxwell.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wilmena “Wilma” Bigelow.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025. Burial will be at Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluelick Bible Church Missionary Fund or Temple Christian School.
