Janet “Jan” L. Mapel

92, of Lima, went home to be with the Lord at 8:45 A.M. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the CHP Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born on July 16, 1925 in Lima, OH, the daughter of Harlen H. and Vada Van Horn. On November 9, 1948, she married William T. Mapel, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1982.

Janet is survived by her children: Robert (Barbara) Mapel of Cincinnati, Linda (Rod) Hansen of Lima, Brad (Barb) Mapel of Lima, and a sister Jean Stump of Fort Myers, FL. Also surviving are four grandchildren:  Jacob (Sarah) Mapel, Jill (Josh) Stedam, Lisa (Greg) Wolfe, and Ryan (Cristin) Hansen, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Janet was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple where she helped in the Sunday School Dept. and the Nursery for years. She loved spending time with family, reading, shopping, and traveling.

Per her wishes a graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11AM.
