JAY DAVID STEPHENS, 19, died at 4:10 p.m. November 21, 2005, at his father's residence. He was born December 6, 1985, in Lima, Ohio to John D. Stephens and Carol A. Honigford Fissel. His father and stepmother, Doris Stephens, survive in Harrod, Ohio. His mother and stepfather, Robert Fissel, survive in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Stephens was vice president of Earth Safe Chemical and worked serving the community as a boiler water technician. He was also a disc jockey and musician, playing the guitar. He loved nature and family pets. He was a hard worker and always willing to help others. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin, who cared deeply about his family. He was a free spirit and had a pure heart, a creative mind and a deep soul. He was also very charismatic, caring and understanding. He was a comfort to be around and had many loyal friends. Survivors also include a brother, Johnny Stephens at home; two sisters, Birdella (Kevin) Stotts of Harrod, Ohio and Christie (Nathan) Dyer of Cridersville, Ohio; two nephews, Bennie Stephens of Cridersville, Ohio and George J. Dyer of Cridersville, Ohio; and his significant other, Shannan Hursten. He was preceded in death by his best friend, Shon Burkholder; an aunt, Pinie Chancey; paternal grandparents, Hallie and Birdella Stephens; and maternal grandparents, Bud and Dorothy Honigford. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Mike Roebuck will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
