Jean Anne Owens,76, died at 5:25 p.m. April 29, 2009, in Las Vegas. She was born January 27, 1933, in Lima, Ohio to Eugene and Vesta Elizabeth Johnson White, who preceded her in death. In 1951, she married Fred Emanuel Owens, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Owens had worked at Ex-Cell-O Corp., Shawnee Manor, RMS of Ohio, Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the Ohio Department of Transportation. She was a member of St. Paul AME Church for several years. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus. She spent her entire life loving her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally. Her family will cherish her precious memory and she will be sadly missed by all. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren loved her dearly. She has been called home to be with the Lord. Survivors include three sons, David Eugene (Donna) Owens, of Rockville, Md., Fred D. (Jacalyn) Owens, of Las Vegas, and Douglas White, of Georgia; five daughters, Pamela White-Owens, of Taylor, Michigan, Kim Phillips Kone, of Las Vegas, Miriam (Ricky) Brown, of Lake Orion, Michigan, Mary Owens, of Columbus, Ohio, and Alison White, of Lima, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several special friends and relatives, including Vivian Green and Linda Johnson; and several other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Whetsel and Carolyn White; and her grandparents. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Ward will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery,Lima. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
