Jean (Parlette) Rader

Jean (Parlette) Rader, 82, of Lima, Ohio passed away on Thursday, Aug 07, 2014 at 7:54 am at her residence.
She was born Oct. 19, 1931 to the late Lavern and Effie (Shaw) Kave in Findlay, Ohio. On Feb. 26, 1949, Jean married Jack Parlette and he died in 1979. On Dec. 28, 1984, she married Ned L. Rader and he died in 2013.
Jean had worked as a secretary for Coca Cola, then worked at the Ottawa Valley Center as a house parent for many years, retiring in 1997. She was a great seamstress and loved sewing, making many clothes for family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking and baking and took pride in her violets and other assorted flowers that she grew. Jean's greatest compassion was for animals, her dog JoJo and especially the many kitties that were strays that she loved and cared for.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Joanna (Rick) Rowe of Lima, a Grandson, Shawn(Chris) Parlette of Columbus Grove, two great granddaughters, three sisters, Elnora Klink of Lima, Mary Ellen Haugh of Lima and Polly Ann Crandall who survives in Florida.
She was proceeded in death by two sons, Jim Parlette and Steve Parlette, two brothers, Robert "Bob" Kave and Jim Stuber and a sister, Ladonna Moore.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Timothy White officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetary.
