Jeanne E. Hoover 57, died at 5:01 p.m. December 15, 2007, at Lima Memorial Health System, following a valiant battle with stomach cancer. She was born September 24, 1950, in Lima, Ohio to Xonophone F. and Vida B. Miller Hoover, who preceded her in death. Ms. Hoover retired June 30, 2007, as a day care worker from Learning Tree Child Care Center, after 26 years. She had also worked at Artex and as a cook and waitress at the PK Dinette and at the Pure Truck Stop. She was a member of First Church of God at the Cross Roads, which is affiliated with Anderson, Indiana, where she helped with the youth group, was in the choir and helped with Bible school. She was a 1968 graduate of Lima Senior High School and received her associate degree in child development in 1995 from the Lima Technical College. She was a fun-loving Christian lady and friend, who will be missed by many who became acquainted with her during her life. The children at the child care center loved her. She has now gone to be with her Lord and Savior. Survivors include a brother, Karl F. (Jackie) Hoover, of Fremont, Ohio; a sister, Velma K. (James) Sanders, of Marshall, Texas; a sister-in-law, G. Fernanda Hoover, of Columbus, Ohio; a brother-in-law, David C. Price, of Pendleton, Indiana; three nieces, Jane Ellen (Brian) Davis, of San Antonio, Texas, Kari L. Price, of Baraga, Michigan, and Linda Nelson, of Columbus, Ohio; five nephews, John F. (Brenda) Hoover, of Watertown, Wisconsin, David Scott Price, of Glendale, Arizona, and John C. Hoover, Jim Hoover and Joe Hoover, all of Columbus, Ohio; three great-nieces, Katelyn Grace Davis and Audrey Marie Davis, both of San Antonio, and Katherine Hoover, of Fremont; several other great-nieces and great-nephews in Columbus, Ohio; two aunts, Martha Chambers, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and June Miller, of Lima, Ohio; an uncle, Paul M. Miller, of Lima, Ohio; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert G. Hoover; a sister, Marilyn JoAnn Price; and several aunts and uncles. Services will begin at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Church of God at the Cross Roads. The Rev. Becky Bodey will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, Ohio. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
