Jeannine A. Nester, wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, died at St. Rita's Medical Center October 13, 2014.
She was born on February 18, 1940 to James P. and Martha (Dill) Finn in Lima, Ohio. She was the oldest of seven children: James P. Finn, Mary Margaret (Dick) Huston, Steven Finn (Marjean), Debra Ashman-Finn, Robert Finn (Tammy) and Amy Kreh (Kevin).
Jeannine met Joseph Michael Nester at St. Gerard's High School in Lima, and were married October 7, 1961. They celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary before his passing in 2001. She had five children Kristy Casey (Samuel), Julia Singhaus, and Nancy Burnett (Terry). An infant son and daughter, Joseph Michael and Brenda Ann Nester, preceded her in death.
During her lifetime Jeannine was a good mother who taught her children to accept and love. As a grandmother she showed everyone around her what love was. She was devoted to her seven grandchildren Sara Trennepohl (Chad), Samantha Casey (Ryan), Tyler Burnett, Zackary Singhaus, Olivia Casey, Joseph Burnett and Lydia Burnett and great grandchild Peyton Trennepohl.
Jeannine had great friends especially, Linda and Bernie and the girls she met during her long nursing career. She graduated from St. Rita's Hospital School Of Nursing in 1961 and retired in 1992. She then worked part-time for Memorial Hospital and retired permanently in 2006 to spend time with her family.
She was a member of St. Rose Church and regularly attended St. Gerard Parish. She lived her life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family friends. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 16, at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 17, at St. Rose Catholic Church. Father David Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery.
