Jeremy Sprague, a son, brother, and friend, is fondly remembered for his love and friendship.
"Jeremy was the person who made sure I felt included," and "I was struck by how much Jeremy made me feel listened to when we first met," were common sentiments shared by friends and coworkers while Jeremy was still in the hospital.
Jeremy, age 38, died in San Francisco, California on Friday, March 10, after suffering an unexpected hemorrhagic stroke on Tuesday, February 28. Modern medicine couldn't heal Jeremy's injury, but his wishes to be an organ donor were fulfilled, extending the life of several others.
Jeremy's beliefs in a divine author that loved his creation showed through in his care for others and the causes he worked for. His family is comforted by knowing that absence from the body is presence with the Lord.
While living in San Francisco, Jeremy worked as a support analyst for Credo Mobile, a mobile phone company formed to donate a portion of its profits to social justice causes. Jeremy was passionate about his company's beliefs and many of his coworkers were close friends he joined at both the park and at protests.
Jeremy is survived by his father O. Barry Sprague, his mother Michelle Sprague, and his brother Joshua Sprague. He is also survived by paternal grandmother, Leola Sprague. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Oliver Sprague, and maternal grandparents Harvey and Nova Chaffins.
Visitation will be Saturday March 18, 2017 from 1 to 4 pm and funeral will be at 4pm. The burial will be in Salem Mennonite Cemetery. Pastor Dennis Moles will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mission:Brain (http://www.missionbrain.org/), a foundation created by some of Jeremy's doctors that provides neurosurgical expertise and resources to patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers in underserved areas throughout the world
