JERRY L. RITTER, 62, died at 4:34 p.m. August 21, 2005, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born August 10, 1943, in Lima, Ohio to Carl E. and Anna M. Marlatt Ritter, who preceded him in death. He had been married to Constance A. Huenke Ritter, who survives. Mr. Ritter retired as an instrument technician from BP Chemical, after 35 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, the National Rifle Association and the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society. He helped start and was a longtime member of the Allen County Bassmasters. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from July 1, 1964, to June 30, 1966, as a nuclear weapons technician with the 70th U.S. Army Missile Detachment. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors also include two sons, Jeffery A. Ritter of Columbus, Ohio and Brian A. Ritter of Lima, Ohio. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. William J. Rose will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
