Jo A. Chafin

Jo A. Chafin, 94, passed away on Thursday March 24, 2022, at her residence.

Jo was born on December 16, 1927 in Logan, West Virginia, to Robert and Hazel Garrett. She married Ray Chafin, who preceded her in death.

Jo was a homemaker, worked at Sears, and also worked for the Cincinnati Red’s Spring Training for several years. Jo donated 21 gallons of blood during her lifetime, and was a long time member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Alan (Amy) Chafin; daughter-in-law Marsha Lobekka; grandchildren, Darren (Jenni Foust) Chafin, Alisha Chafin, Jenny Chafin, Heather (Billy) Darby, and Justin Hertel; great-grandchildren, Reece, Eva, Isaiah, Chloe, Legend, Holden, Andrew (Michala), Desiree, and Desmin; and a great-great-granddaughter Kaylenn.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Garrett Chafin.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.  A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.  Rev. Allen Sudmann will officiate.  Burial will follow at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Red Cross.
