Jo Ann Stemen,
85, formally of Elida, Ohio, went home to be with her loving Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 11:10 A.M. in Goshen, Indiana
Born Monday, November 29, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lee Cedric Turner and the late Della Mary Hensler Turner.
On December 4th, 1944, she married Robert Edward Stemen. They were married 62 1/2 years until his death on May 19, 2007. Mrs. Stemen retired in 1982 as assistant to the Editor of The Lima News where she was employed for 20 years. A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, her family and friends were always close to her heart. Family gatherings were so very special to everyone. She loved the outdoors and tending to her flower gardens.
Surviving are: two daughters, Sheryl (Allen) Brenneman of Goshen, IN and Deborah Jo (Charles) Cypher of Lima, OH; two sons, Michael E. Stemen of Lima, OH, and Kevin D. (Deborah) Stemen of Conyers, GA and; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Ramer, Michelle Ester-Bode, Tanya Fast, Sarah Browning, Jason Stemen, Lindsay Battle, Crew Cypher, and Logan Cypher; eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Rev. Lee (Mary) Turner of Sun City, AZ.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home and Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. prior to the funeral service at 10:00 A.M.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Elida, OH.
