Joann Frances Page, 88, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at The Springs of Lima.
Joann was born on October 6, 1930, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late Joseph C. & Anna Mary (Friedrich) Gerdemann. On June 25, 1949, she married George A. Page, who preceded her in death on January 29, 2007.
She was a librarian for over 30 years at Elida Elementary School. Joann was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church singing in both the adult and funeral choir. She was also a funeral planner for St. Charles and thoroughly enjoyed her time with her friends at both her Bible study group and book club. After her family, her faith and her love of God was the most important part of her life, especially her devotion to praying the rosary daily. She was a Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame fan, enjoyed gardening, and traveling, especially throughout Italy and other parts of Europe. Joann dearly loved her family and attending anything and everything her grandchildren did.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Terry) Bear of St. Petersburg, FL, three sons: Mark (Kathy) Page, Joe (Kim) Page, and David (Lori) Page all of Lima, OH, grandchildren: Jessica Hart, John Bear, David (Katie) Bear, Marcie (Nate) Cooper, SMSgt. Michael (Christina) Page, Ben Page, Brian (Melanie) Page, Brent (Jessica) Page, Shannon (Jason) Bowers, Matthew (Ashley) Page, Kevin (Jennifer) Page, Nicki Hilleary, Joe (Shelbey) Hilleary, 32 great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Richard Norton of Lima, and sister-in-law Terry Page of Huntsville, Ohio.
Joann was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Hilleary, infant son, Michael Page, five sisters: Mary Anna (Paul) Kruskamp, Sister Ann Lucille Gerdemann, Ruth (Jerome) Zuercher, Evelyn (Leroy) Lawrence, and Doris Norton, brother, Joseph Gerdemann, sister-in-laws, Martha Porter and Rosemary (Leo) Pavlo, brother-in-law, Robert Page, and granddaughter-in-law Kippi Page.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. A funeral mass of Christian burial will follow at 12:00 noon. Father Kent Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow mass at Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
Memorial contributions may be made to choice of St. Charles Development Fund or St. Charles Adult Choir Fund.
