JoeAnn was born on Saturday, October 16, 1926, in Lima to the late Peter S. Mumma and Minnie [Larue] Mumma. On Thursday, July 17, 1975, she married her second husband Robert Rhodes and he died July 5, 2013.

She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary FOE #370.had served as secretary. Avid bowler, winning at least one Lima city championship. Member of the Red Hatter's Club, She loved animals and enjoyed gardening. She had volunteered at both Lima Memorial Hospital and St Rita's Medical Center.

Surviving are a daughter Debbie (Douglas) Ketteman of Lima, OH, of Lima a daughter Pamela (Robert) Draughn of Troy, OH, a son Richard D. Shields of Lima, OH, a daughter - Denise (Manny Rubacaba) Shields of Santa Cruz, CA also surviving are thirteen grandchildren - Angie Anna, Michael Shannon, David (Buzz), Randy (Rocky), Jay, Michael, Douglas, David, Devan, Sean and Jacob, thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 29, 2013 following visitation at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Standford and officiating.
