JOEL CALVIN BROWN, 13, died at 6 a.m. October 22, 2006, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1993, in Lima, Ohio to Tony Newman and Denise Brown, who both survive in Lima, Ohio. Joel was in the seventh grade at Heir Force Community School. He loved to read and use his computer. He also enjoyed science. He had hopes of attending Princeton University. He knew the Lord and was saved. Survivors also include a sister, Jewel Barber of Lima, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Thelma Brown of Lima, Ohio; five aunts and uncles, Debbie Brown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Don (Sandy) Brown of Florida, Becky (Tim) Rich of Lima, Ohio, Dennis (Kelly) Brown of Lima, Ohio and Dawn (Dan) Cross of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and seven cousins, Jenny (Bryan) Kohli of Lima, Ohio, Angie Rich of Cleveland, Ohio, Kristen Brown of Lima, Ohio, Caleb Cross and Chloe Cross, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Danielle Williams and Brooke Kohli, both of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Don C. Brown Sr. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor David Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
