79, of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 2:29 A.M. at his daughter's residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born April 7, 1933 in Fostoria, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold Stumpp and the late Ethel (DeShetler) Stumpp.
Joel married Kathleen Marie Lyons on October 13, 1951. She survives in Lima. He retired from General Dynamics as a machinist. He previously had worked at Hefner Dairy, Dana Corp. and ExCello Corp. He attended the Church of the Nazarene and their prayer group; Allentown United Methodist Church; and was a former member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He and his wife spent many of their retired years traveling, and found St. Augustine, Florida to be their favorite.
Surviving are: a daughter, Stephanie Everhardt of Indian Lake, OH; a son, Michael Stumpp of Indian Lake, OH; a daughter, Vickie (Gregory L.) Patterson of Lima, Ohio; a daughter, Sharon (Stephen) Shambarger of Lima, OH; eight grandchildren: Joy Buetner, Angela Burke, Amanda Chamov, Chad Everhardt, Jamie Frost, Julianna Patterson, Matthew Patterson and Aubrey Ruggley and ten great grandchildren; a sister, Charleen Barchlette of McComb, OH.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with John Zerbe officiating.
Interment will be in Allentown Cemetery, Allentown, OH at a later date.
