John A. Bell

80, passed away August 7, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

John was born, August 7, 1938 in Chicago IL to the late Almon L. and Christine (Anderson) Bell. On August 3, 1968 he married Marilyn Harruff, who survives in Lima, Ohio

John was a U.S. Navy Veteran. After 25 years of teaching he retired from Ben Logan School systems. John was an avid reader, who loved live theater, history and traveling. He was a caring teacher, a good husband of 50 years, and a loving father and grandfather; he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his children Kathleen (Matt) Evans, Eric (Debbie) Bell, and Amy (Zach) Swisher, all of Bellefontaine, OH; eight grandchildren Mandi, Brittany, Tyler, Beth, Alexis, Hannah, Emma, and Brayten; two great grandchildren Benjamin, and Paige; a sister Carolyn Creager of Dallas, GA; a brother James (Lisa) Bell, of Franksville, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Quelhorst Farm, 07945 St. Rt. 197, Wapakoneta Ohio 45895. A Celebration of Life will follow at 12 p.m., Jacob King and his grandson Tyler Evans will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family, or Unitarian Fellowship of Lima.
