John Edward Egri

John Edward Egri,  47, passed away at 12:51 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, in Dayton, Ohio.

John was born on Wednesday, May 26, 1971  in Lima, Ohio to Jerrold P. Egri and Brenda (Armentrout) Egri.

John was a 1989 Lima Senior graduate who was involved in the marching band and baseball.  He served in the U.S. Army active duty and reserves for 11 years.   He enjoyed bowling (having bowled several 300 games) and fishing. John was a member of the Central Christian Church.

He is survived by sons: Kaleb Egri of Ohio, Taeler McGrath and Daeton Egri both of Washington, step-daughter Stephanie Recker of Ohio, his mother,  Brenda Egri, a brother Charles (Beth) Egri of Pace, FL, sister Melissa (Doug) Jones of Chester, VA, and 3 nieces: Alisha, Nikki, and Jessica.

He was preceded in death by his father Jerrold Egri, a brother Paul Egri, and grandmother Edna Arbogast.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio.   A funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m.  Pastor Gary Rummel officiating. Burial at Memorial Park Cemetery will be at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund for Kaleb Egri.
