John Daniel "Dan" Finn
85, died at 1:58 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.
Dan was born on March 21, 1933, in Lima, Ohio, to the late, Edward A. Finn and Catherine L. (Flavin) Finn. On Tuesday, December 27, 1955, he married Juanita (Cox) Finn, they had been married 62 years. She survives in Lima.
Dan was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, and Life member of the Elks. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1989 from Excello/Airfoil-Textron as a production superintendent. He was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed casinos, grilling, gardening and Friday family nights. He was a sports fanatic following The Ohio State University, the Cavaliers, Bengals, Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame.
He is survived by three daughters, Debra M. Werff, of Elida, OH, Rhonda S. (David C.) Martz, of Lima, OH, and Lisa K. (Gary) Blosser, of Bluffton, OH; five grandchildren, Stephanie N. (Chris) Grewe, Stacey L. (Kory) Carter, Kristen R. (Josh Hale) Werff, Daniel Finn Blosser, and Michael K. Blosser; four great grandchildren, Aidan, Demi, Max, and Abby; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Werff; four sisters, Mary Catherine Finn, Mary Jo Finn, Rose Bohne, and Kathleen Ketchum; five brothers, Joseph Finn, Al Finn, Neil Finn, Edward Finn, Gerard Finn.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima, OH. Rev. David M. Ross will officiate.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
