JOHN C. GOUGH, 89, died at 1:25 p.m. December 14, 2006, at Wapakoneta Manor Nursing Home. He was born April 18, 1917, in Dillon, S.Carolina, to John Thomas and Maggie Bryant Gough, who preceded him in death. On December 29, 1942, he married Louise Idell Buckland in California, who died April 1, 2001. Mr. Gough was a member of New Creation Lutheran Church, Lima, Ohio. He retired from Range Kleen in 1994, where the annex was named after him. He was a retired accountant from Scots Inn. He loved to golf. He and his wife enjoyed bowling and square dancing. He was active in the Boy Scouts. His sense of humor was enjoyed by all. He served in the Navy from November 15, 1938, to April 16, 1946. He rejoined in 1951 and served 17 more months during the Korean War. The family would like to express thanks and love to the staff, nurses and aides at Wapakoneta Manor for all the tender loving care and concern they gave him. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Louise Cravatt, of Toledo,Ohio and Elizabeth Ann (Tim) Weitz, of Lima, Ohio; two sisters, Beatrice Huggins, of Little Rock, Ark, and Ruth E. Burgess, of Hampton, Virginia; and three grandchildren, Annie Weitz, Brian Weitz, and Nikki Weitz. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Jerome Gough, L.H. Gough and Marion Gough; and three sisters, Emma Oveido Gibbs, Vera Herring and Ruby Snipes. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Pastor Samuel Payne will officiate. Burial of cremains will be later in Shawnee Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Boys & Girls Town, or New Creation Lutheran Church.
