JOHN S. LACKEY, 51, died at 5:07 a.m. November 29, 2005, at The Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus, Ohio. He was born December 14, 1953, in Lima, Ohio to Wayne and Eileen Harmon Lackey. His father survives in Lima, Ohio. His mother died in 1996. On July 25, 1995, he married Sandy Perine, who survives in Lima, Ohio. Mr. Lackey retired in 2004 as a hi-lo driver from Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant, after 30 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers. He was an avid member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a muscle car enthusiast. He was a proud and devoted husband and father, who loved his cat, Maria, and working his land. Survivors also include, a son, Eric A. Lackey of Elida, Ohio, who had served in the Marine Corps; a daughter, Karen E. Lackey of Elida, Ohio, who has a master's degree in business administration; a stepson, James M. Perine of Lima, Ohio; and his former wife, Toni J. Steed Lackey of Lima, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Lackey. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bluelick Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
