John T. "Tom" O'Neill, Sr., 73 of Lima, Ohio died on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at his residence.
Born Monday, December 27, 1937 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late William O'Neill and the late Alberta McPheron O'Neill.
He retired from St. Rita's Medical Center. He served in the United States Army from1957 to 1962. He enjoyed Indy and NASCAR racing, was a Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed attending grandchildren's school activities. He had many friends at Paddy Mac's. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are son, John (Marie) O'Neill of Georgia, daughters, Natalie Mathias of Lima, OH and Martie (Jack) Bishop of Lima, OH, 10 grandchildren, Jason, Chelsea, Ray, Jensen, Joshua, Tyson, Kathleen, Jaden, Madison, Jeremy, and three great grandchildren, Edward, Isaac, and Brody. brother, Eugene (Ann) O'Neill of Michigan, a sister, Pat Stippich of Lima, OH. Many Nieces & Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews
He was predeceased by brother, Edward O'Neill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday at St. Gerard's Catholic Church with the Father James Szobonya officiating. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Military Rite Service at Gethsemani Cemetery by Post 1275.
