John B. Raesky, of Lima, Ohio died at 2:30 A.M. on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at his residence.
Born Wednesday, March 24, 1926 in Wapakoneta, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jacob Raesky and the late Florentina Sciranka Raesky.
John married Martha Howell on January 31, 1953 in St. John's Catholic Church, Lima, Ohio. He served in the United States Army from June 4, 1944 to May 30, 1946 and received the EAME Theater Ribbon with Two Bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, World War II Meritorious Unit Award and the Occupation Medal (Germany). He retired from Ford Motor Company after 31 years. He was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 96, Lima, and the Eagles Aerie 370, Lima.
Surviving are: son, Mark (Robin) Raesky of Lima, OH.; daughter, Kristen Reynolds of Lima, OH; three grandchildren- Heather (Perry) Beko of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Nicholas Reynolds, of Lima, Ohio, and Jacob Raesky of Lima, Ohio; and a brother, Anthony Raesky of Lima, OH.
He was predeceased by: brothers, Joseph Raesky and Donald Raesky, and sisters, Veronica LaRue and Claire Hoot.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Private family services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275.
