John R. Reynolds 90, died at 7:25 p.m. September 30, 2007, at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born December 21, 1916, in Kalida, Ohio to Roger and Mary Rimer Reynolds, who preceded him in death. On January 14, 1939, he married Miriam J. Hughes, who died August 17, 2005. They had been married for 66 years. Mr. Reynolds retired in 1978 from the State Auditor?s Office, Lima, after more than 30 years. Following his retirement he was a driver for Tom Ahl Chrysler. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Elida. He was a 64-year member of Rufus Putnam Lodge 364 Free & Accepted Masons, where he had been a past master and served 46 consecutive years as secretary. He was a 60-year member of Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, where he served as past patron eight times. He was an Army veteran serving from April 29, 1944, to March 3, 1946. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Robert) Long, of McClure, Linda (Tony) Matlock, of Lima, Ohio, and Debbie (Keith) Trettin, of Monclova; and eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Reynolds. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Rev. Ruth Solo will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
