JOHN O. "JACK" WILLIAMS, 8, died at 11:45 a.m. March 27, 2007, at Primrose Retirement of Lima, Ohio. He was born August 15, 1928, in Vaughnsville, Ohio to J. Myron and Edith Bogart Williams, who preceded him in death. On September 15, 1950, he married Wava Irwin, who died April 3, 1995. Mr. Williams retired from the board of directors of the Union Bank after 30 years. He was in the trucking industry with his father and brother and also managed several area grain elevators. Following his retirement, he drove a charter bus. He was a member of Lima Community Church of the Nazarene and had been a member of Vaughnsville United Methodist Church and Ottawa River Church of God. He was a member of Gideon's, the Lima Memorial Health System Auxiliary, the Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Rufus Putnam Lodge 364 Free & Accepted Masons, Columbus Grove, Ohio, and Benevolent & Protective Order of Elks. He was a 1946 graduate of Vaughnsville High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving from April 15, 1952, to February 14, 1954. Survivors include a daughter, Sue (Gary) Fickel, of Vaughnsville, Ohio; a sister, Janice (Ed) Branham, of Gomer, Ohio, two granddaughters, Amy (Dennis) Youngpeter, of Delphos, Ohio, and Beth (Tom) Casper, of Maumee, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Rory Elizabeth Youngpeter. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Williams; and a brother, Richard Williams. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The Revs. Vince Nelson and Dottie Kaiser will officiate. Burial will be in the Ottawa River Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
