John Frederick Wilt,
61, of Lima, Ohio died on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at 12:02 AM at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Born Thursday, January 18, 1951 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Wilt and Nancy (Gedge) Wilt who passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012.
John was a lifelong resident of Lima. He was an avid sports fan and number one fan of the Lima Senior Spartans and the Lima Locos. John greatly enjoyed getting hats and programs from any and all sports teams. He had many friends who sent them to him from all over the country. John never met a stranger and had an uncanny knack for remembering names. John worked at Marimor Industries for over 40 years and was named "Man of the Year" for 2012. He has resided at Dalton House since 1999. He was an honorary member of the Kiwanis Club of Lima and looked forward to attending the meetings and luncheons. The Kiwanians recently made John a Lifetime Member. John was known and loved by many and his smile and good nature will be missed by all.
Surviving are: two brothers, Dave (Ruth) Wilt of Columbus, OH and Steve (Sandy) Wilt of Naperville, IL; He was delighted in being and uncle to Jason (Karen) Wilt, Adam (Lisa) Wilt, Josh and Derek Wilt; He was inspired to create works of art at Art Ability by his great nephews Henry and Oliver Wilt and his great niece Sadie Wilt.
He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A combined funeral service will be held on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11A.M. , at the Market St. Presbyterian Church.
