John Clayton Wimer, Sr.
87, died at 12:26 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence.

John was born on November 1, 1926, in Hillsboro, West Virginia, to the late John Wimer and Lela (Tenny) Wimer. On Tuesday, August 14, 1979, in Lima, Ohio, he married Rita D. Crowe. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2006. Also preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth J. Wimer.

He was a life member of VFW; American Legion #96; the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #199 for over 50 years; American Vets & Eagles #370.

He is survived by: a son, Keith (Mary) Horton; a daughter, Darlene Ray; a daughter, Karen Plumb; a daughter, Laura (Michael) McKinney; a son, John C. Wimer, Jr.; a daughter, Theresa (Jim) Bryan; a son, Maurice Wimer; a daughter, Renelda (Terry) Holloway; nine grandchildren, Leesa (Johnny) Demoss, Chasity Thompson, Julie Horton, Michael (Erica) Messick, Austin Plumb, Kristin (Nicholas) Suarez, Elizabeth (Josh Hosmer) Wimer, Christina Holloway, Mathew Watkins David Vaughn: nineteen great grandchildren, Cassandra Demoss, Alizabeth Demoss, Brandon Demoss, Destiny Middlemiss, Drake Middlemiss, Jordan Middlemiss, Kaiya Middlemiss, Eddie Frey, Konner Hosmer, Kaytlynn Holloway, Paige Zeigler, Jeffery Bulock, Mackenna Bulock, Nicholas Suarez Jr., Karmyn Suarez, Brooklynn Suarez, Kaila and Jacquelynn James, Lonnie Earl Jr.

He was preceded in death by: a son, James Horton; a daughter, Lavonda "Bonnie" Wimer; six brothers and one sister.

The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio followed by a lodge service conducted by the Loyal Order Of Moose Lodge #199.

A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio with a graveside military service conducted by Ada VFW.
