Joseph Arthur Hetzler
88, died at 3:20 PM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home in Spencerville, Ohio.

Joseph was born on April 2, 1927, in Rockland, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Hetzler and S. Irene (Martz) Hetzler. On Saturday, October 14, 1950, in Pennsylvania, he married Shirley Dawn Evans. They were married for 65 years. She survives in Spencerville.

Joe was a graduate of the Rockland PA High School and served in the US Air Force from 1948 -1953 and during the Berlin Air Lift.

He was a former resident of Marion, Ohio before coming to Lima where he retired from the Ford Motor Company after 17 years as an Industrial Engineer.

He was a member of the VFW-Post #6772-Spencerville,OH; Eagles-FOE #370-Lima; Elks Lodge #54-Lima.

He is survived by: three daughters, Patricia L (Mark) Croman, of Marion, OH, Catherine A. (Michael) Chill, of Marion, OH and Lesa D. (James) Wende, of Lima, OH; one son, Robley J. (Shelly) Hetzler, of Monongahela, PA; a sister, Doris (Don) Myers, of Seneca, PA; six grandchildren, April (Jayson) Hills, of Milford, OH, Shannon B. (Bill) Self of Marion, OH, Veronica Wende, of Lima, OH, Lidija Wende, of Lima, OH, Sarah A. Hetzler, of Monongahela, PA, Rachel J. Hetzler, of Monongahela, PA; eight step-grandchildren; three great-grandchild; seventeen step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Calvin Hetzler and a brother, Frederick Hetzler.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor James Fletcher will officiate.

Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Spencerville VFW Post # 6772.
