Joseph Max Lutterbein, age 73, of Lima, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home. Joe was born on March 2, 1948 to Harold Max and Doris (May) Millirans-Lutterbein.
Survivors include his brother, Al (Jeanne) Lutterbein; sisters, Diana (Wayne) Good and Robin Anderson (Tony Beall); daughters: Misty (Tony) Currier, Crystal (Sam) Hickey, Tiffany (Brian) Sibert and Lacey (Gary Tyree) Lutterbein; grandchildren: Summer (Carey Boice) Lutterbein and Alexandria Lutterbein, Sammy and Joey Hickey, Ty, Treg and Téa Sibert; great grandchildren, Liam Hickey and Lovelyn Boice.
He was preceeded in death by his father, Harold “Max” Lutterbein and mother, Doris (May) Millirans-Lutterbein, and a brother-in-law, Joe Anderson.
Joe was a 1966 graduate of Perry High School. After serving in the Navy, he worked at Westinghouse/Sundstrand and Rudolph Foods until he reached retirement age. Besides being a devoted family man, some of the best times of Joe’s life were spent on the softball field where he dedicated many years to playing on and coaching some of the best men’s, women’s, youth and co-ed teams in the Lima area. In his later years, he enjoyed nothing more than eating a good meal with family and following his grandchildren’s many sporting activities.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to donor’s choice.
To celebrate Joe’s life, a gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 pm to 7pm on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, 920 N. Cable Road, Lima, Ohio.
