Joseph John Meringleo,
92, of Lima, Ohio died on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Heartland Rehab Center of Indian Lake in Lakeview, OH.
Born April 16, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Joseph was a graduate of Harrod High School in 1937 and was in the CCC's until World War II began and then he joined the Army Air Corp. He served as a Tech-Sgt in the Army from 1940 until 1945. He married Louise M. Page on November 4, 1944, she preceded him in death on February 6, 2010. He was a member of St John's Catholic Church and worked at C& G Distributing for 54 years retiring at the age of 90.
Surviving are: two daughters, Marilyn Moore of Huntsville, OH and DeeDee (Ben) Dirksen of Lima, OH; four grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, David Moore, Jessica Dirksen, and Shawn Dirksen; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Haunstien of Ada, OH and Rose Lautzenheiser of Marshall, MI; a brother John Crosina of Elida, OH.
He was preceded in death by a step father, Ralph Crosina and his mother Anna (Bartaldo) Crosina and his son-in-law Bill Moore.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Parish Wake at 8:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church, Lima, OH, with Father David M. Ross officiating.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, OH.
