Joseph Santaguida

Joseph John Santaguida,
83 of Bluffton, Ohio, died on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 5:00 A.M. at Richland Manor Nursing Home in Bluffton, Ohio.

Born Wednesday, February 13, 1929 in Lima, Ohio, he was the son of the late Nick Santaguida and the late Mary (Faga) Santaguida.

He served in the Army from 1947 until 1948. He was a Veteran of World War II.

He married Mary Sue Gallase on July 5, 1956. She preceded him in death on May 2, 2005. He was a machinist at Teledyne /Ohio Steel retiring after 42 years. He was a life member of the Elks BPOE #54; a life member of the VFW Post #1275; a member of the Eagles Aerie #370-Lima; a member of the American Legion Post 96; a former member of the St John's Church (attended their school); and a member of the Ottawa River Church of God. He was a wonderful woodworker and had crafted many personal items for every family member and many friends.

Surviving are: a son, Nicholas (Carrie) Santaguida of Mission Veijo, CA; two daughters, Judy Ann (Michael) Fanaff of Columbus Grove, OH; and Susan M. (Thomas) Webb of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Jones, Amanda (Tom) Vallery, Aaron Michael Fanaff, Kathryn Santaguida, Stephanie Santaguida, Joseph John Santaguida, III, Kelly (Randy) Lenhart, and Samantha (Patrick) Wallace; thirteen great grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Wilma) Santaguida of Saint Marys, OH; a sister, Teresa M. Clement of Lima, OH; a large number of nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Joseph John Santaguida, II; two brothers, James Santaguida and Anthony Santaguida.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Walls officiating

Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima, Ohio. Graveside Military honors will be conducted by VFW 1275.
