Joseph "Joe" David Turner,
64 of Defiance, Ohio died on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his residence in Defiance, Ohio.
Born Tuesday, July 23, 1946 in Paulding, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Turner and the late Jeanetta Day Turner.
He served in the Army from 1965 until 1971. He was a Veteran of Vietnam.
Mr. Turner retired from Kenosha Trucking Co. in Ft. Wayne, IN. Joseph was an avid outdoorsman, and loved fishing and hunting in particular. He loved to travel and also loved the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes.
Surviving are: a Fiancée, Nettie Childs of Lima, Ohio; a son, Eric Turner of Ft. Wayne, IN, daughter, Tiffany (Justin) Harris of Las Vegas, NV, brother, Richard "Stub" (Shirley) Turner of Lima, OH, sister, Patricia (Ronald) Cain of Lima, OH; seven grandchildren; many nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by sister, Rae J. "Shug" Spinks; and a brother and sister-in-law, Carlos & (Sally) Turner.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, March 26, 2012, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Ward officiating.
Interment will be in Middle Creek Zion Baptist Cemetery, Grover Hill, OH.
